The first Canadian Chapter is patterned after eight successful Monte Jade Associate chapters in the U.S. These chapters have already achieved tremendous records including involvement in about 300 high tech companies which employ approximately 30,000 highly skilled researchers and generate some $4 billion in revenues. Following the proven formula of these U.S. chapters, Monte Jade Western Canada, acting as the facilitator, hopes to create employment and investment opportunities for many talented Chinese professionals who have immigrated to Western Canada and to tap into international investment funds to the benefit of both the local job market and the economy.
History of Monte Jade
The Monte Jade Science & Technology Association was established by a group of high-tech Chinese American executives in Silicon Valley in 1989. Monte Jade is a non-profit association for the producers and users of technology in all sectors of the economy. On behalf of its membership, Monte Jade promotes and facilitates the development of a strong commercial technology industry globally. Named after the highest mountain in Northeast Asia, whose inhabitants have viewed Monte Jade as spiritual inspiration for the pursuit of excellence, integrity, and creativity. Monte Jade was created with the same values in mind and strives to inspire our members to achieve their highest potential.
Objectives of Monte Jade
Promote economically viable technology based enterprise creation and growth.
Connect technology related organizations in the Pacific Northwest and Asia to support strong economic evelopment.
Network technology professionals throughout western North America including Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest & Yukon Territories) and USA (Washington and Oregon).
Channel business information to the growing Asia Pacific marketplace where professionals and corporations can exchange valuable experiences in investment, management, technology, and manufacturing opportunities.
Educate professionals and students for careers in technology organizations in the Pacific Northwest and Asia.
